Are you interested in investigative journalism and want to meet fellow journalists at the 8th Global Investigative Journalism Network Conference in Rio de Janeiro? Free Press Unlimited invites you to send your project proposal for a new project relating to investigative journalism. The best proposals from four individual journalists will be rewards with a unique exhibition. Proposals that do justice to the curious nature of serious journalism, the audience with new insights to shed light on issues that are important but still underexposed.
Rewards
The exhibition consists of a return flight to Rio de Janeiro and hotel stays during the 8th Global Investigative Journalism Conference to be held from October 12 to 15 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. During the conference you will have the opportunity to network and to exchange with leading journalists in the field, to get expert advice and ideas to learn new best practices that will be presented during the event.
Criteria
Journalists interested in Investigative Journalism are invited to apply. The Free Press Unlimited award criteria for the Fellowship include:
- enterprise
- clarity and quality of writing
- fairness and lack of bias
- reporting strategy
- methodology
Individual proposals will be judged by a jury consisting of Free Press Unlimited employees. You can complete your proposal of maximum five pages drafting in English, French or Spanish and send to cooper [at]freepressunlimited.org.
