Challenge yourself, innovate a solution to improve water sanitation conditions in Jakarta and win a full scholarship worth approx. 48,000 EURO for the Master’s Programme in Water Resources Engineering at Lund University in Sweden.

About the Blue Bag Project
With only 5% of inhabitants in Jakarta having access to municipal sewerage, the Blue Bag Project and the Water Innovation Award 2015 hope to improve the level of access to clean water and reduce water contamination levels for local residents in Jakarta.
IKEA Indonesia will donate 100% of revenue from the sale of all Blue Bags to Mercy Corps Indonesia’s local water sanitation and sewage project. This project will provide and install 100 septic tanks over the period of two years in the local community of Kecamatan Penjaringan, North Jakarta.
Prizes
- Full tuition fee waiver for 2 year’s Master’s programme in Water Resources Engineering at Lund University worth approximately 30,000 EURO and annual return flights to Sweden provided by IKEA Indonesia.
- Living allowance, accommodation and health insurance worth 18,000 EURO provided by Lund University.
- Internship with Mercy Corps Indonesia’s Blue Bag Project during your studies. Opportunity to work on your Master’s thesis with Mercy Corps Indonesia.
Eligibility
This competition is open to undergraduate and master’s students and young professionals in relevant fields. They will compete with their innovative ideas and gain the educational knowhow and professional experience to contribute lasting change to their community.

Although the competition does not open for submissions until September 30, 2014, students are welcome to register their interest now. Registered students will receive important updates and an official welcome email once the competition opens.
