Applications are now open for the 2017 Google Web and Android Scholarship Program. The program takes place 100% online. You can work from wherever you want to, as long as you have a working internet connection. Udacity provides a program under which it grants scholarships to students who apply for sponsorships of fees for Udacity programs.
The Scholarship
Scholarships available for residents of Europe, Russia, Egypt, Israel and Turkey. The scholarship program is structured in two parts:
- Phase 1: 60,000 Challenge Scholarships
The first phase of this scholarship provides 3-months of access to one of four Udacity courses: Intro to HTML + CSS, Offline Web Applications, Android Basics and Developing Android Apps. Scholarship recipients in these courses will receive a robust community experience supported by dedicated Community Managers, Udacity mentor support, and a chance to qualify for a full Nanodegree scholarship. - Phase 2: 6,000 Nanodegree Scholarships
The top 6,000 students in the program earn an additional 6-month scholarship to one of four Nanodegree Programs: Front-End Web Developer, Mobile Web Specialist, Android Basics Nanodegree and Android Developer. The full-scholarships will include project reviews, mentorship and community support.
After the 3-months, full scholarships will be awarded to students based on the progress in Phase 1 and their contributions to the Udacity community. The scholarships will include the following Nanodegree programs:
- Front-End Web Developer
- Mobile Web Specialist
- Android Basics Nanodegree
- Android Developer.
The scholarships will begin on November 6, 2017. You can study according to your own schedule as long as you complete the course within 3 months. You have access to the material via your Udacity classroom, or the mobile apps, 24 hours a day and you are welcome to learn whenever suits you best until the scholarship program ends.
Learning Paths:
Web Developer
30,000 Web Developer seats available! If accepted, you’ll be placed into one of two tracks based on your experience level:
- Beginner Path (20,000 seats)
- No programming experience required.
- 3-month access to Intro to HTML + CSS with support from Udacity Mentors.
- Design and build stunning and engaging websites!
Top 2,000 students from the Beginner Track will be awarded scholarships to the Front End Web Developer Nanodegree Program.
- Programmer Path (10,000 seats)
- Some programming experience required.
- 3-month access to Offline Web Applications with support from Udacity Mentors.
- Build next-generation and responsive web applications and grow as a developer.
Top 1,000 students from the Programmer Track will be awarded scholarships to the Mobile Web Specialist Nanodegree Program.
Android Developer
30,000 Android Developer seats available! If accepted, you’ll be placed into one of two tracks based on your experience level:
- Beginner Path (20,000 seats)
- Begin to code from scratch.
- 3-month access to Android Basics: User Interface with support from Udacity Mentors.
- Start building Android apps!
Top 2,000 students from the Beginner Track will be awarded scholarships to the Android Basics Nanodegree Program.
- Programmer Path (10,000 seats)
- Build interactive multi-screen Android apps.
- 3-month access to Developing Android Apps with support from Udacity Mentors.
- Get closer to becoming an Android developer!
Top 1,000 students from the Programmer Track will be awarded scholarships to the Android Developer Nanodegree Program.
Eligibility
To receive one of these scholarships, you must:
- Be a current resident of one of the 28 EU countries, 4 EFTA countries or Russia, Egypt, Israel and Turkey.
- Be at least 18 years old and complete the application in full.

Judging Criteria
Judges will evaluate each Participant’s coursework in eligible courses and Nanodegree programs and select winners based on the below criteria:
- Satisfactory completion of the application for the Scholarship.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully complete or make substantial progress in online courses like those offered on Udacity.com.
- Sufficient prerequisite knowledge necessary for the programs.
- The quality and thoughtfulness of your responses.
- Goal Orientation and Desire to Make an Impact
- Demonstrated Determination and Diversity of Perspective.
How to Apply
It only takes 10 minutes! There is a single application for all scholarships. They’ll help you decide which path is right for you. It’s absolutely fine if you don’t know the answers to every question or haven’t taken any programming classes before.
Scholarship recipients will be notified by October 30, 2017.
