Applications are now invited from students for the 2013 Zawadi Africa Education Fund. The program designed to provide scholarships to academically gifted girls from disadvantaged backgrounds from Africa to pursue higher education in the US. The Zawadi Africa Education Fund is based on the highly successful Kennedy/Mboya Student airlifts of the 1960′s, through a partnership with individuals and institutions with an interest in creating leadership
Eligibility
A Zawadi Africa Education Fund Student is a girl who has;
- demonstrated academic excellence (A- and above)
- demonstrated leadership qualities. (A prefect demonstrates initiative.)
- overcome insurmountable odds to attain academic excellence (financially)

- Email completed application to Zawadi adminstrator in your country, with the subject “Zawadi 2013 application”

Instructions
If you meet the criteria, you can apply and also attach the following;
- A one page Biography TYPED of yourself with a passport photo highlighting your family background, educational background, hobbies and activities you have undertaken in school and in your community and your aspirations.
- A copy of your high school leaving certificate and result slip.
- High school certificates that show your involvement in extracurricular activities.
Note: Short listed candidates will be called for an interview a month after the submission of the application.
