Applications are invited for the China-Scholarship Council- East-West Center Joint Affiliate Scholars Program. The China Scholarship Council – East-West Center Joint Affiliate Scholar Program (CSC-EWC Affiliate Scholar Program) provides a limited number of opportunities for Chinese nationals who are PhD students from universities and institutions in the People’s Republic of China, to have a short-term affiliation with the Center while working on dissertation research related to the Asia Pacific region. Affiliate scholars pursue their research in connection with faculty and other scholars and specialists at the East-West Center and the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa whom they have previously identified as sharing their interests.
Funding Details
CSC-EWC Affiliate Scholars are individually responsible for their local expenses beyond the amount awarded by the China Scholarship Program. The CSC-EWC Affiliate Scholar Program is short-term in nature, with visa sponsorship ranging from six months to a maximum of one year. Affiliate Scholars pay a program administration fee of US $40 per month of award.
Consideration for the CSC-EWC Affiliate Scholar Program is both competitive and based on space availability.
