Deadline: August 31, 2018

Applications for the Africa London Nagasaki (ALN) Scholarship Fund 2019/20 are now open. The Africa London Nagasaki (ALN) Fund is a scholarship fund set up to support African scientists to undertake a Master’s degree in a subject relevant to the control of infectious disease in Africa. The awards will support a candidate to undertake a Master of Tropical Medicine degree at the School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health, Nagasaki University, Japan or an MSc at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, London, UK.

The Africa London Nagasaki Scholarship Fund is a collaboration between the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and the School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health, Nagasaki University, Japan.

Scholarship

Four of five awards will be made each year for the period 2010 to 2018. Successful applicants will receive a maximum of US$50,000 each to cover tuition fees, travel and living expenses.

An award will only be made on condition that the candidate meets the criteria set for entry on the course for which they have applied.

Eligibility

  • Candidates should only apply to the university of their choice when they have been awarded a scholarship
  • Candidates applying for an Africa London Nagasaki (ALN) MSc scholarship must meet the following criteria.

LSHTM

The standard of English needed to pass the tests is high and is in line with the level of English required by the UK Border Authority in order to issue a student visa.
