Is there an activist in your community who is below the age of 30 and has inspired you? Someone who started an initiative, motivated others to become more civically engaged or played a crucial role in an organisation? Now it’s time to share their story with the world!
Through the #FindYourLocalHero campaign they are looking to uncover, with your help, the hidden everyday heroes in your communities! For this, they are looking for story submissions. The stories will be featured on the #EuropeanHeroes website and social media pages. Moreover, for the best submissions they receive, they will help raise the profile of your Local Hero across the continent, and spread the word about the cause he/she is working on.

European exposure to the people you nominate, and a chance to raise awareness about their initiatives.
Eligibility
- Young people between the ages of 15-30 years old.
Video Guidelines
- The maximum length of the video should be between 2-4 minutes long, and it should have a good quality sound.
- Make sure the Local Hero in your video answers the following:
- Key questions:
- Who are you?
- What problem are you trying to tackle?
- How are you going about solving it?
- Why is it important to you?
- Optional questions:
- What message would you like to share with youth that want to follow in your footsteps?
- What is your vision for Europe?
- Key questions:
Article Guidelines
- The maximum length of the article should be between 1-2 pages. Be aware of typos when writing the piece.
- Make sure the Local Hero in your article answers the following
- Key questions:
- Who are you?
- What problem are you trying to tackle?
- How are you going about solving it?
- Why is it important to you?
- Optional questions:
- Can you share links to talks or texts that you can recommend to any starting activist?
- Do you have a personal motto? If yes, please share it with us.

Application
- Record a 2-4 minute video or write a 1-2 page article about your Local Hero following the examples we provided on our site and Facebook Page.
- Submit their story at [email protected], until September 15, 2018.
- After receiving our notification, visit the campaign page and share the article or video on social media using the #FindYourLocalHero and #EuropeanHeroes hashtags.
