Opportunity Desk is pleased to invite young people across the world to enter the 2018/2019 OD Impact Challenge. The OD Impact Challenge seeks to recognize and support the efforts of young change-makers working to bring positive change to their communities while projecting and highlighting the impact opportunitydesk.org is making in the lives of people worldwide. Thanks to our partners, this edition comes with lost of exciting benefits.
Opportunity Desk is an online platform that bridges the opportunity gap for people across the world by creating open access to information and educative resources. These opportunities help to facilitate young people’s efforts in exchanging ideas and preparing themselves for the future. They include scholarships, conferences, fellowships, awards, jobs, internships and grants targeted towards individuals and organizations worldwide.
This year’s challenge is organized in partnership with Mireille Toulekima Global Leadership and Sir Darancoh Consultant Limited.
The competition is simple, it challenges participants to answer three main questions:-
- What are you doing to bring positive change to your community?
- How is OD making an impact in your life?
- How will the prizes help you if you win?

Eligibility
- Participants between 18 and 30 years from any nationality are welcome to apply
- Participants should be active Opportunity Desk Users. To be considered an active user, you are either a fan/follower on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram; or you must be subscribed to our email newsletter.
- Participants should be actively engaged in their communities.
- Team members and mentors at Opportunity Desk are not eligible for this contest.
- There is no entry fee
- Opportunity Desk can take no responsibility for entries that are incorrectly or incompletely submitted.
Selection Process
- At the close of applications, a shortlist of 12 finalists will be published and made open for public votes.
- At the end of the voting period, the jury, made up of social change leaders and impact drivers, will carefully select the top 3 winners based on the following criteria:
- Innovation and impact of your project
- Impact of OD in your life
- Social Media Response (Likes/Comments)
How to Enter the Competition
- Step 1: Complete the online application here.
- Step 2: Give us a shout-out to let us know you have submitted your application by tagging us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with @OpportunityDesk and the hashtags #ODImpactChallenge #ODIC2018. You can also ask us any question on social media using these hashtags.
- Step 3: Prepare for the voting round if your application is accepted by first week of January 2019.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Deadline for applications is December 31, 2018
- Top 12 finalists will be announced on January 7, 2019 during which OD fans can show support for their favorite finalists through likes, comments, shares.
- Three winners will be selected based on the Judge’s criteria and support from OD users. Winners will be announced on Monday, January 21, 2019 and prizes distributed between February and April 2019.
