Kpenseme Sophy Emmanuel

Kpenseme Sophy is an elder-care advocate. She advocates for the socio-economic inclusion and wellbeing of vulnerable older people in rural communities through targeted welfare intervention programs, which reintegrates seniors back into society. Kpenseme is the Founder and Director of the Sophys Ovie Foundation; where they empower and promote the well-being of vulnerable older people. Through her welfare intervention programs for the aged, she has reintegrated over 7000 older people back into the society across communities in Nigeria.
She started Sophys Ovie Foundation as a Divine Mandate on 28th December 2018 and with the help of friends, family and individual donations, she has empowered and promoted elder inclusion and well-being across seven communities.
Their target are the aged group which represents one of the most isolated groups in the society. Kpenseme believes everyone, everywhere irrespective of their age, gender and status all have vital roles to play for a better society. Thus, her passion is to reintegrate older people back into the society through welfare intervention programs.
So far, Sophys Ovie Foundation has reintegrated over 7000 older people back into the society across communities in Nigeria through welfare intervention programs such as; Food Bank Programs, Medical Programs, Financial Empowerment Programs and Monthly Elder Care Sponsorship Programs.

Her future plans are to establish a Social Protection Scheme for vulnerable older people in rural communities through monthly welfare stipends, Building durable and affordable houses for homeless elders and Empowering older women with seed capital for small scale businesses , which are all geared towards improving the well-being of the aged.
One of the obstacles Kpenseme faces is insufficient resources and she is able to overcome it by maximizing the available resources to impact more older people.
