Applications are open for the 2nd ASEAN Energy Youth Awards (AEYA) 2021. The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) is pleased to announce the 2nd ASEAN Energy Youth Awards (AEYA) in recognition of young students’ valuable contribution to nation-building, sustainable development, and energy transition.

The theme of the 2nd awards is “Innovation and Creativity Towards Sustainable and Resilient Energy System in ASEAN”. These awards are jointly organised by the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), and supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTI) Korea and Korea Energy Agency (KEA).

Categories: The categories for the awards are Essay, Infographic Poster and Video.

Objectives

  • To promote sustainable and resilient energy in the region and to bring awareness and participation in the implementation of the ASEAN Plan of Action and Energy Cooperation (APAEC) Phase II: 2021-2025.
  • To encourage the participation of Youth to the AMS in expressing their perspectives and innovative ideas for enhancing energy access, and affordability in a sustainable way.
  • To engage the youth sector by using their creativity and innovation to enhance the public awareness of clean energy and a sustainable environment.

Prizes

  • The winners and runners-up will be invited to the 39th of ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) in September 2021 and to be awarded cash prizes and trophy/medal to be presented by ACE, SEAMEO, MOTI & KEA.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must possess ASEAN Citizenship;
  • The awards are open to enrolled High School and University/College (Bachelor’s degree) students;
  • One applicant could only apply for one category;
  • The previous winners and runners-up are not allowed to submit entries to the same categories in this year’s Awards.

  • Essay
    • The acceptable file format is PDF
    • The length of the essay is no more than 1000 words (Times New Roman, 12, Spacing: 1,5, Paper Size: A4)
    • Language: English
  • Infographic Poster
    • The acceptable file formats are JPG, JPEG, PNG
    • File size: 2 – 5 MB
    • Language: English
  • Video
    • The acceptable file format is MP4
    • Video length: 3 Mins, Size: no more than 3 GB
    • Language: English
