Creative Imaging: A Growth Hack for any Career

In a fast-paced work environment, it takes a person who can think outside the box to easily become the most valuable player. Thinking creatively helps you come up with ideas and strategies that will ace the game of any industry. So, whether you are a lawyer, a doctor or even an engineer, it takes your creative imagination to move up the ladder in that career. This is where creative imaging comes in.

Creative imaging can be referred to the use of vivid or figurative expression to represent objects, ideas or actions. For the purpose of this article, creative imaging is the art of using graphical representations, creative writing and artwork to make work appealing and visual. Creative imaging thrives on experimentation. Most times, the thoughts are novel or a tweak from existing strategies.  Whichever it is, there is the need to take your imagination on a smooth ride to have a positive outcome.

Benefits of Creative Imaging for Career Growth

  1. Innovation and Problem-solving: Every career or business needs to be innovative in their approaches to solving problems. Albert Einstein famously observed, “We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.” This will mean strategically and creatively thinking to bring solutions. An organization that embraces creativity gives room to foster resilience and adaptability among their employees. More so, solving complex problems will involve carrying out several experiments until the perfect solution is found. The evolving of processes and strategies can only come through creative imaging.
  2. Building a personal and professional brand: In today’s world, branding is very important. Either as a job seeker, an entrepreneur or a creative, the way you package yourself and your brand is very important. The way one creatively crafts his stories and fills up his social media handle with appealing visuals also makes for a leap in the career industry.
  3. Improved Brand Visibility: Creative imaging enhances your brand visibility and perception in the marketplace. Churning out creative images with beautifully crafted stories in the crowded marketplace makes any organization stand out. More so, with the average attention span of human beings to be rated at 8.25seconds, writing long and boring copies may do more damage to the brand visibility. However, short compelling visuals either videos or pictures, does the magic.
  4. Improved Sales: First of all, you need to recognize that if you are not making sales, then you are not in business and by extension, there is no need for creative imaging. Let’s use a legal firm for example, in marketing their legal services, firm ABC tells a short story in one convincing picture while firm XYZ tells the same story but in long paragraphs with no visual content to back it up.  There is no doubt that more people will opt for Firm ABC because all they needed to do was share their images with you to get you to patronize them. In marketing especially in this era of social media marketing, a lot of creativity goes into making maximum profit.
  5. Opportunities for career advancement: Employers have always employed staff who can bring up innovative ideas to solve problems in the organization. What often happens is that any staff or organization that fully utilizes their creative imagination skills usually gets the larger chunk of the pie. This is one reason why an employee who recently got employed in an organization gets more promotions than others who have been there for a long time.

Strategies to Implement Creative Imaging

  1.  Create time for brainstorming: Many times, a person’s creativity gets piqued when they create time to think. Creativity can come from thinking exploratively. Also, constant brainstorming leads to constant experimentation. Allowing ideas to creatively flow could also mean giving rooms for many failures. However, failures are stepping stones to the next big break.
  2. Utilize productivity and technological tools for creative expression:  Different productivity tools have emerged to help give life to those creative ideas. Interestingly, many of these tools are created such that you don’t need to be professional at it to be able to use them. This is because of the easy processes involved to navigate through creating a design.  Technology has given the opportunity for many creative expressions.
  3. Collaboration: Engaging in cross-functional projects gives the opportunity to work in teams. When we work in teams, we have the opportunity to work across varieties of many creative talents, helping us think through ideas and implementing them.
  4. Overcome obstacles to creative thinking: There are certain obstacles that stand in the way of one’s creativity like fear of failure, self-doubts, perfectionism among others. Practicing the art of mindfulness is one step to overcome these obstacles. Learning how to quieten your inner critic is another sure way to do this.
  5. Break large tasks into smaller chunks: One-way creative imaging can be effectively implemented is to reduce large tasks to smaller chunks. Somehow, the mind gets wary when the goal it tends to achieve looks too large. However, when they are broken down into small tasks, it helps to properly manage them.

Conclusively, creative imaging goes a long way to improve the quality of your work, thereby giving opportunities to grow in your career. So, whether you are in business, education or even the banking sector, you should think creatively. Interestingly, having a graphic representation of ideas has become easier today, you can click on www.creativefabrica.com/studio/ now to create magic.
