1. Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize for Journalism 2024

The Prize aims to recognise outstanding in-depth journalism work on topics that are relevant for the European Union (EU) as a whole or some of its Member States and contribute to the promotion of principles and values of the EU, as enshrined in the European Charter of Human Rights.

3. Africa Thesis Award 2024

Are you interested in Africa and is your master’s thesis on a related subject? If so, the African Studies Centre Leiden is offering you the chance to win €500. Moreover, your thesis will be published in the ASCL’s African Studies Collection. The award aims to encourage student’s research and writing on African topics and to promote the study of African cultures and societies. It is presented annually to a student whose master’s thesis has been completed on the basis of research conducted on an African topic.

The European Capital of Innovation Awards (Capital), supported by the European Innovation Council (EIC) under Horizon Europe, recognise those European cities that open their governance practices to experimentation and aim at being role models for other cities by pushing the boundaries of technology for the benefit of their citizens.

5. John and Alice Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement 2025.

The John and Alice Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement is awarded for scientific work on the environment, energy, and health, resulting in important benefits for humanity. The Prize is endowed by gifts from the John and Alice Tyler Charitable Trusts, and awardees are chosen annually by the Executive Committee. The University of Southern California is the administrator of the Tyler Prize.

The Association of Foreign Press Correspondents in the USA (AFPC-USA) recognizes U.S.-based foreign journalists who publish abroad in radio, TV, online, print, and online foreign media.

8. NAAEE Global E-STEM Awards Program 2024

The North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) and Pratt & Whitney believe that E-STEM is a great way for young people to build the problem-solving skills needed to address today’s environmental challenges. The Global E-STEM Awards program will provide funding of up to $15,000 USD for Innovation Grants and $50,000 USD for Excellence Prizes to nonprofit organizations and their partners for E-STEM programs that engage students ages 11-22.

10. Carmignac Photojournalism Award 2024.

Applications are open for the Carmignac Photojournalism Award 2024. The 15th edition of the Carmignac Photojournalism Award is dedicated to Southeast Asia and the violations of human and environmental rights caused by illegal fishing and overfishing.

11. Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Okayama Award 2024

In 2015, Okayama city launched the ESD Okayama Award to actively promote ESD and contribute to ESD around the world. The ESD Okayama Award is held annually by Okayama City and the ESD Okayama Award Steering Board consisting of organizations which have contributed to the promotion of ESD in Japan and around the world.

12.  Kenneth C. Frazier Award for Maternal Health Equity.

This annual prize, awarded through the MSD for Mothers initiative, provides a grant to an organization in recognition of its commitment to and progress towards more equitable, more respectful, higher quality maternal health for all. This award is named after Kenneth C. Frazier as a testament to his unwavering commitment to social justice and leveraging the private sector for public good.
