SCB Graduate Student Research Fellowship Awards 2024

Applications are open for the SCB Graduate Student Research Fellowship Awards 2024. Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) allocates awards funding to support ten graduate student members whose research advances the science and practice of conserving biological diversity. The fellowship is designed to support graduate students who need assistance with costs toward field expenses in order to complete their degree.

The SCB Global Awards Committee administers the Graduate Student Research Fellowship Awards and evaluates applicants on merit and with respect to geographic, topical, gender and other aspects of conservation diversity. Graduate Student Research Fellowship Awards will support field work, including travel, materials or equipment required to conduct research by graduate students.

Benefit

  • The ten $1,000 awards support travel, materials or equipment for graduate student members to conduct field research in conservation science.

Eligibility

  • Open to graduate student members of the Society for Conservation Biology.
  • Students must demonstrate financial need toward completion of a graduate degree, and graduate research must contribute to SCB’s mission to advance the science and practice of conserving Earth’s biodiversity.

Application

Application must include:

  • Completed application form submitted by August 30, 2024
  • Short CV (max 2 pages)
  • Proof of SCB membership
  • Proof of university enrollment during the period of January 2024 – December 2024 (e.g., a scanned copy of a university student card, receipt from registration fees, etc.)
  • Letter of support from a primary supervisor (no more than 1 page)
