Applications for the PK Amoabeng Leadership Scholar Program 2024 are now open. The PK Amoabeng Leadership Scholar Program is an intense one-year program focused on Revolutionizing the Mindset for the African Leaders.

The Program seeks to add value to the young leader’s mind. It is expected to produce industry leaders imbued with a strong sense of patriotism, innovative leaders, problem solvers, creative thinkers, and knowledgeable in their respective fields of endeavor.

Benefits

  • Intentional Mentorship: About ten winners will be paired with a reputable CEO or equivalent leader in Ghana, UK, or US for at least a year. The intent is to give the individual visibility and the opportunity to learn from these leaders. Quarterly check-in meetings with the mentor/mentee will be required.
  • Experimental job shadowing: The foundation will work with each winner to identify areas of interest relative to their choice of career, either current or in the future, and help arrange a flexible type of job shadowing that can accommodate both the winner and the potential company for the experimental job shadowing.
  • Courses and Seminars: The foundation will facilitate and pay (Up to $20,000 USD per year) for relevant courses and seminars related to leadership to help individuals develop the abilities and confidence needed to take on leadership roles and successfully guide and motivate others to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Networking / Collaboration opportunities: The foundation will facilitate networking and collaboration activities to help individuals: with professional development, job opportunities, business opportunities, support & advice, increased visibility, and for the individual to make valuable connections that can benefit personal and professional growth.
  • Introductory (Boot Camp): Over the 12 months, the prospective leaders would benefit from two weeks of Military Training (business endurance & discipline).

    Eligibility

    • Applicants must be Ghanaian.
    • Be between 18-40 years of age.

    Selection Criteria

    • Applicants who demonstrate certain factors associated with strong leadership, such as initiative, integrity, and the ability to work well in a team.
    • Applicants genuinely interested in developing their leadership skills have a clear motivation to participate in the program.
    • Applicants with prior leadership experiences, such as involvement in student organizations, volunteering, or work experience.

    Interested young potential leaders should complete a bio data and also send their personal statement, two letters of recommendation, CV, and mentorship needs via [email protected] by September 20, 2024.

    • Write a personal statement on why you are interested in becoming a PK Amoabeng Scholar (include information about yourself and one leadership success or failure experience in your life time.)
    • Two letters of recommendation; from an Employer, Academic Institution, Community or Civil Society Organizer or Head of a Public or Private Agency, for the candidate’s abilities and legitimacy.
