1. Kectil Program 2025 for Youth Leaders

“KECTIL” is an acronym that refers to the Knowles Educational and Charitable Trust for International Leadership. The Program connects talented youth leaders born for greatness in developing countries worldwide for deep discussion and networking about issues that matter, as well as proposed actions to improve the quality of life locally and globally. The Program is offered for free from the Malmar Knowles Family Foundation. Youth in the Kectil Program are referred to as Kectil Colleagues.

2. Oxford Climate Journalism Network 2025

This is a unique opportunity to join a global network, and learn from peers and academics, while developing your own expertise and career in climate journalism. 11. Reporting Together: German Ukrainian Journalist Exchange 2025 (stipend of €1,000) 

n-ost, in cooperation with the Prague Civil Society Center, invites 10 journalists from Ukraine and Germany to take part in the “Reporting Together: German-Ukrainian Journalist Exchange”. This project is designed to strengthen the professional ties between journalists in both countries and foster on-the-ground reporting on Ukraine in the German media. The project will begin with an in-person meeting in Berlin on 12-15 November 2024 and run till the end of January 2025.

12. True Story Award 2025 for journalists ($20,000 Prize) 

 The True Story Award is the first global journalism prize. Its aim is to make reporters’ voices known beyond the borders of their home countries, and in doing so to increase the diversity of perspectives offered in the media. The True Story Award will be conferred by an independent foundation and honours reporters writing in 10 languages, who have distinguished themselves by the depth of their research, the quality of their journalism and its social relevance.

13. EJN Investigative Story Grant and Training Program for Indigenous & Tribal Journalists 2025

To increase Indigenous representation-and by extension, knowledge equity-in environmental reporting, EJN is launching a training program for up to 6 Indigenous journalists looking to investigate and produce stories about these varied issues.

16. Commonwealth Youth Awards for Excellence in Development Work 2025 

Organised and delivered by the Commonwealth Youth Programme, the Commonwealth Youth Awards for Excellence in Development Work aims to recognise and celebrate young people in the Commonwealth who are spearheading impactful, sustainable development work in their communities. This year, the Commonwealth Foundation and the Khalili Foundation have joined as their partners for the 2025 Awards to offer additional grants and prizes to eligible applicants.
