Deadline: Rolling Basis

Are you passionate about helping to shape a better world? Are you hungry to put your classroom learning to work and gain real world knowledge and skills? Do you want to work in an international team in an inspiring environment? Apply for an internship with Salzburg Global Seminar!

Salzburg Global Seminar is an independent non-profit organization founded in 1947 to challenge current and future leaders to shape a better world. Their two main offices are located in Salzburg, Austria, and Washington, D.C. They convene outstanding talent across generations, cultures, and sectors to inspire new thinking and action, and to connect local innovators with global resources. We foster lasting networks and partnerships for creative, just and sustainable change.

The interns are selected from across the world in a highly competitive process. While undergraduates who have completed at least three years of accredited study may apply, preference is given to recent college graduates or to those in early-stage graduate studies whose interests and skills align well with Salzburg Global’s programs and activities.

Available Internship Positions

  • Communications Internship: As an integral part of the Communications team, you will tell compelling stories about the impact of Salzburg Global’s programs. Your work will span their website, print publications, social media platforms, and external media partners.
  • Development Internship: As an integral part of the Development team, you will be conducting background research into institutions and potential partners, drafting program-related concept notes, proposals, and reports, as well as providing administrative support for Salzburg Global’s programs.
  • Library Internship: As their point of contact for Salzburg Global’s small, private collection, your focus will be on archival work and library oversight. They will rely on you to create and curate their institutional archives and to maintain their private library. You will also be managing their periodicals collection.
  • Program Internship: As an integral part of the program team, your role will be key to the successful running of their programs. You will be responsible for supporting their preparation, administration, and implementation. The team will rely on your organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Hong Kong Universities Internship: The Hong Kong Universities Internship is for students currently enrolled or recently graduated from a university in Hong Kong. It has been made possible thanks to the support of generous donors. As an integral part of our programs, your role will be key to the successful running of our programs. You will be responsible for supporting their preparation, administration, and implementation. The team will rely on your organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Benefits

The internships are full-time and last for a maximum period of three months. Although the position is not paid, they will provide the successful candidate with:

  • Board and lodging at Schloss Leopoldskron;
  • A return ticket for their country of origin;
  • And excellent networking opportunities with the international participants of our programs.

Eligibility

While undergraduates who have completed at least three years of accredited study may apply, preference is given to recent college graduates or to those in early-stage graduate studies whose interests and skills align well with Salzburg Global’s programs and activities.

  • Undergraduates working towards a bachelor’s degree with a demonstrable interest in one of Salzburg Global’s program areas may apply to either the Program Internship or the Development Internship.
  • The Communications Team and Library Internships are only open to applicants with an undergraduate or graduate degree in relevant fields.
