Taiwo Bankole Prize 2024 for Nigerians

Applications for the Taiwo Bankole Prize 2024 are now open. The Taiwo Bankole Prize is aimed at supporting two young persons (one male and one female) from low-income families resident in Ajegunle to acquire a university education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) or Law annually. 

This Prize is in honor of Taiwo Bankole Ogunyemi, who dedicated his life to positively impacting the lives of young people and had a mission to change the world. Born May 1, 1985, Taiwo Bankole Ogunyemi, lived life in full. In his own words, “Community organization is my passion while being a change agent is my calling. But creating innovative businesses remains my expertise.” As a community organizer and change agent, Taiwo led projects such as the first Summer Technology Camp in Delta State and several ICT workshops in Lagos and Delta states – including free training for students in Oshodi Local Government.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be between 17 and 25 years of age.
  • Must be from a low-income family.
  • Must have secured admission into a public university in Nigeria to study a course in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) or Law.
  • Must be a resident of Ajegunle.

Application

In this application, you will be required to upload the following documents:

  • SSCE certificate
  • JAMB result
  • Admission Letter
  • Identification Card (NIN, International Passport, Voters card, Drivers License).

Also, you will need to upload two letters of recommendation. Your recommenders must include at least one individual who taught or supervised you in secondary school (i.e teacher, or principal), and one Ajegunle community stakeholder that can testify about your personality.
