Deadline: January 31, 2025

Applications are open for the Fulbright Specialist Program 2025. The Fulbright Specialist Program is a program of the Department of State that provides a unique opportunity for institutions across the globe to host leading U.S. academic professionals. Specialists and host institutions work together to implement a project ranging from two to six weeks. Host institutions design project goals and activities that will exchange knowledge and promote long-lasting collaboration between individuals and institutions around the world.

Host institutions may design projects in one of the following priority disciplines: Cyber Security and IT; Disaster Response; Entrepreneurship; Environmental Sustainability; Media Literacy/Countering Disinformation; Public Administration; Public/Global Health; STEM (Science Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and supporting the strengthening of democratic processes and the rule of law.

Costs

  • In general, host institutions should be prepared to provide the Specialist with lodging, meals, and in-country transportation, either through monetary or in-kind contributions, throughout their full stay in country. However, if your institution is unable to cover these costs, in certain countries, there may be limited funding available to support these expenses.

Eligibility

  • Open to Cameroonian academic institutions.
  • Institutions that may be eligible to request a Fulbright Specialist include, but are not limited to:
    • Institutions of Higher Education
    • Government Institutions (ministries or agencies, courts, parliamentary or congressional bodies)
    • Cultural Institutions (conservatories, museums, etc.)
    • Non-Governmental Organizations including non-partisan, issue-centered institutions and think tanks
    • Medical Institutions (public health organizations, teaching hospitals, etc.)
  • The most competitive proposals will demonstrate clear, realistic goals and objectives; focus on one of the priority areas outlined above and demonstrate the importance of the project to the Cameroonian context at large.

Application

Interested institutions are invited to submit a proposal through the online application platform, following the procedure described in the “Host Institution Application Instructions” no later than January 31, 2025.
