Applications are open for the Charles R. Wall Conservation Leadership & Management Fellowship 2025. The Charles R. Wall Conservation Leadership and Management Fellowship (CLMF) brings together young African professionals from business, NGOs, the public sector, and community-based entities passionate about project implementation and leading impact in the environment space, to impart them with transformational leadership and management skills for impact.

The CLMF, run by African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), is more than a program—it’s a journey of transformation for young African professionals like you. Now entering its third cohort, CLMF is a highly competitive and prestigious fellowship with over 1,000 applications received last year alone, a testament to its unique value and the depth of learning it provides. If you’re ready to turn your passion for conservation into a legacy of leadership and systemic impact as well as join a prestigious community of young conservation leaders like yourself, we encourage you to apply today. Costs

  • Travel and Transport: They cover your round-trip airfare and ground transport for the in-person workshop in Nairobi.
  • Accommodation & Sustenance: Comfortable lodging is provided for in-person workshops and the placement.
  • Connectivity Support: A stipend for data bundles to keep you connected and engaged during virtual sessions.
  • Personalised Coaching: Ongoing coaching throughout the program to support you in delivering your innovation project.

Eligibility

  • Open to practitioners (employed, founders, volunteers) in the conservation space including but not limited to areas such as research, communication, science, HR, Finance, administration, law, community engagement, fundraising, program management etc. One does not have to be a conservation scientist but must demonstrate a clear interest and passion for a career in conservation regardless of background of practice. 
  • Nationals of any of the African countries and currently living and working within Africa.
  • Age: 20-35 years.
  • Minimum of a diploma in any field.
  • If you are francophone/lusophone, must have basic English writing and speaking skills.
