Call for Nominations: DMZ Women of the Year Award 2025

Do you know a woman who is making waves in tech? Nominate them for the DMZ Women of the Year Award 2025. DMZ’s Women of the Year is an esteemed list celebrated by the tech community that honours exceptional women who are driving innovation and making significant contributions to Canada’s tech and business sectors.

This award highlights leaders from diverse backgrounds, including startup founders, corporate executives and non-profit pioneers. Honourees exemplify the talent, dedication and perseverance needed to break barriers and inspire the next generation of women in technology and business.

At DMZ, they don’t just celebrate International Women’s Day — they set the stage for action. On March 6, gear up for the Women Innovation Summit 2025 at DMZ with a bold lineup of events made to elevate women innovators, changemakers and their allies. This year’s Summit will be packed with high-stakes pitches, milestone moments and unfiltered conversations led by trailblazing founders and industry leaders.

Eligibility

Nominees must:

  • Identify as a woman.
  • Be based in Canada.
  • Be working in a tech-based role, supporting a tech-based role or creating impact through tech.
  • Be contributing to or leading tech-enabled initiatives designed to benefit others or drive change.

Evaluation Criteria

Nominations are evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Impact and Influence
    • Has the nominee made a meaningful impact in a community, group or sector through technology?
    • Does their work deliver clear outcomes, such as solving challenges, benefiting others or advancing the field?
  • Leadership and Contribution
    • Does the nominee inspire and guide others through exceptional leadership?
    • Have they contributed significantly by mentoring, advocating for diversity or fostering collaboration?
  • Achievements and Ongoing Initiatives
    • Are they actively engaged in initiatives that drive meaningful change and progress?
    • Could this award help them achieve greater milestones in their journey?
  • Professional Presence and Alignment
    • Do their achievements demonstrate expertise and influence in their field?
    • Does their work embody the values of innovation, leadership and community impact?

Nomination

They invite you to submit a nomination by January 19, 2025. Self-nominations are welcome. Winners will be announced at DMZ’s Women Innovation Summit on March 6, 2025.
