Call for Nominations: Digital Public Infrastructure Working Group Members

Nominate yourself or someone you know to be part of the global effort to shape safe and inclusive Digital Public Infrastructure. The DPI Safeguards initiatives, stewarded by the Office of the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology and UNDP, is now accepting nominations for its 2025 Working Groups Cohort. Composed of diverse experts from around the world, this cohort will shape the future of DPI Safeguards by further refining the existing framework and strengthening the global debate on safety and inclusion.

The expertise within the DPI Safeguards’ working groups ranges from artificial intelligence (AI) to cybersecurity and open-source technologies. The members are brought together by a common focus on ensuring safety and bridging the digital divide. They are also motivated by the belief that safe and inclusive DPI can enable societies to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Responsibilities

  • Refine and develop the DPI Safeguards Framework: Identify additional scope, develop new recommendations and lead the biannual review process for updates.
  • Develop Knowledge Products: Contribute to creating new tools and methodologies for the DPI Ecosystem.
  • Provide Advisory support to the initiative: Advise on the adoption and integration of Safeguards into DPI implementations globally.

Eligibility

  • Open to professionals from all nations;
  • Expertise in digital transformation, governance, or policy-making;
  • Experience in shaping strategies at international or national levels;
  • Commitment to multi-stakeholder approaches in DPI.

Evaluation Criteria

Evaluation of nominees will be conducted on the basis of the nominee’s suitability, capacity and willingness to contribute to the Initiative’s overall objectives, with due regard for gender and geographical diversity, and relevance of expertise. Those nominees under consideration will be contacted directly.

The window for nomination will close at 11:59pm ET on 21 January 2025.
