4 Tips for Optimizing your Resume

Submitting a resume for an open role may seem like adding another name to an already overflowing list of aspirators, but that should not necessarily be the case.

By using these four simple strategies and the right format, any resume can be optimized for your employment search and help you land the job you want. Check out on the tips below:

1 . Write the resume yourself

While an AI bot may help you in highlighting specific skills and experience, or suggest a great keyword list from a job description, using AI to write the full resume can be a red flag.

Many employees use AI scanners to identify AI content.in order to make sure humans are applying for a human job. Some recruiters filter out resumes generated with AI. You’ll want to make sure your resume isn’t presenting as if it’s AI generated by running it through a detection software which utilizes a multi-step approach for maximum accuracy.

2 . Add relevant keywords

If you want to get your resume noticed, it is critical to use the right language. Using the right keywords can can enhance the hiring process and help you in getting past any AI program that use scanners to weed out candidates that do not qualify.

Instead, doing a simple Google search can come with keywords that are relevant for your job type. For additional help, review the job description for which you have applied and pull out the best keywords from there that align with your skills.

3 . Keep the resume simple

Outline your resume in simple language and not as an instrument to showcase your personality and design skills. Your employer should especially get the feel of who you are and not about your weekend activities.

The single task of your resume should be simplicity in just showcasing your qualifications for the job. Use only white paper to write your resume on and avoid images and graphics. As for your hobbies, you can bring in this topic in an interview but not on the resume.

4. Your resume should be customized

While it is tempting to write a resume and use it for all the jobs you are applying for, it may not always be the best approach. Instead, optimize your resume for a job search for each open role. All you need to do is to tweak a few things, review the resume based on each individual job description.

Start by looking at the qualifications that your employer is looking for and use that list to prioritize your work experience and skills to enable the recruiter to quickly identify your qualifications for the job.

5 . A one page resume is enough

There are several compelling reasons for printing just a one page resume. First of all it forces the job seeker to focus on the most relevant points which are crucial in the job market today. Also hiring managers have limited time to review lengthy applications and prefer a concise short resumes.

Secondly, a one page resume is reader friendly and employers appreciate the brevity and clarity of a short document. Lengthy resumes, on the other hand, can dilute the impact of providing essential information.
