Are you building a climate-smart business in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, waste management, water solutions, eco-friendly manufacturing, or green technology? Apply now for the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC) Business Incubation Programme 2025. The GCIC Business Incubation Programme is designed to empower entrepreneurs with innovative solutions for climate change adaptation and mitigation. This is your chance to scale your business while making a meaningful impact on Ghana’s green economy.

The Ghana Climate Innovation Centre is a pioneering incubator at Ashesi University dedicated to fostering climate-smart entrepreneurship in Ghana. With support from global partners like the World Bank and Global Affairs Canada, GCIC has helped businesses avoid over 3 million metric tonnes of carbon emissions while creating over 31,000 jobs.

Benefits

Participants will enjoy:

  • Grant Funding: Up to CAD $21,000 to support your business growth.

  • Mentorship: Guidance from industry leaders to help you navigate challenges and scale effectively.
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with investors, peers, and key stakeholders in Ghana’s green economy.
  • Recognition: Join a prestigious network of over 100 GCIC alumni businesses making strides in climate action.

Eligibility

  • Your business must be legally registered and operational in Ghana for at least three (3) years.
  • Not fewer than three (3) full-time employees.
  • Minimum annual gross revenue of GHC 500,000 in the last two fiscal years.
  • Must operate in one of the five (5) sectors of GCIC:
    • Climate Smart Agriculture
    • Domestic Waste Management
    • Energy Efficiency
    • Water Management & Purification
    • Solar Power
  • Businesses outside the 5 sectors but with an interest in greening their operations may also apply.
  • Women-led businesses and businesses focused on water management & purification, especially those providing solutions to the water pollution menace of galamsey in Ghana, are particularly encouraged to apply.

  • Provide detailed documentation including:
    • Proof of legal registration
    • Financial records from the last two fiscal years
    • A comprehensive business plan outlining your operations and impact
