Deadline: May 30, 2025

Are you a rising sophomore or junior passionate about making a difference in your community? Apply now for the Close the Gap Foundation Social Impact Fellowship 2025. The Social Impact Fellowship 2025 offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social impact, mentorship, and scholarships. If you’re ready to build confidence, develop a social impact project, and earn valuable recognition, this program is for you!

The Fellowship was conceived through a “pay it forward to move forward” model. As Fellows gain the toolkit to close their own gap, they will also give back to the very community that nurtured their growth and success (hint: it’s never too early to give back!). The Social Impact Project introduces students to project-based learning and empowers them to tackle social issues that impact their local community. At the end of the program, the most creative, impactful project will be awarded the $1,000 Growth Mindset Scholarship.

Benefits

  • Project-Based Learning: Tackle a social issue you care about and lead your own social impact project. This project will not only make a difference in your community but can also be part of your college application and personal insight questions.
  • Structured Mentorship: You’ll be paired with a mentor who will meet with you weekly. Mentors are professionals from top companies, startups, and graduate schools like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft, providing you with expert guidance and career insights.
  • Scholarships: Present your social impact project to a panel of Silicon Valley leaders for a chance to win the $1,000 Growth Mindset Scholarship. To date, over $20,000 in scholarships have been awarded to Fellows who have gone on to achieve great success.
  • Build Your Network and Confidence: Not only will you develop the skills to tackle social challenges, but you’ll also build lifelong confidence and expand your professional network—connecting with like-minded peers and top-tier mentors.

Eligibility

  • You will be in 11th-12th grade for the 2025-2026 School Year;
  • You identify as low-income or previously qualified for free or reduced school lunch (refer to NSLA, 42 U.S.C.1761(b)(3));
  • You are attending a high school in California, Oregon or Washington;
  • You will be able to attend and participate in all the program’s events.

Application

Application deadline is May 30, 2025. The orientation will take place on June 1, 2025.
