Deadline: June 15, 2025

Applications are open for the JASS Global Movement Builders’ School 2025. ASS (Just Associates) is thrilled to announce the call for applications for its first-ever Global Movement Builders’ School, taking place in South Africa from October 30 to November 2, 2025.

If you are an activist, organizer, educator, artivist, or advocate committed to driving social change, this invitation is for you. Join a powerful, in-person, four-day intensive experience designed to sharpen strategy, deepen collective analysis, and imagine transformative futures.

About the Global Movement Builders’ School

At a time of profound political, social, and economic shifts worldwide, movements must come together to rethink strategy, renew solidarity, and collectively reimagine new possibilities for justice and liberation. The Global Movement Builders’ School will convene 50 dynamic movement builders from around the world for a shared journey of reflection, learning, and collective action.

Participants will engage in critical discussions, creative processes, and strategic sessions focused on:

  • Understanding and analyzing the evolving political landscape.
  • Sharpening strategies to confront systemic oppression.
  • Deepening collective knowledge of power, resistance, and change-making.
  • Building cross-movement solidarity and imagining transformative futures.

This gathering will be rooted in JASS’s commitment to feminist movement building, centering the experiences, insights, and leadership of activists from the Global South and marginalized communities worldwide.

Cost

  • JASS will cover all costs (flight, transit, accommodation, meals) for participants. For those from organizations with larger budgets, they will ask for a % contribution to help defray costs.

Eligibility

They are seeking a diverse group of approximately 50 participants from around the world who:

  • Have at least 5 years of experience in organizing or advocating for social change;
  • Play a leadership role in a social change organization, network or community group;
  • Are eager to engage and learn with others across issues, borders and identities;
  • Are committed to bringing about social transformation that is liberating, feminist and decolonial;
  • Are interested in integrating a movement oriented and ecosystem approach in their work for social change;
  • Want to deepen their understanding of power – both the systems we’re up against and the power we can build together;
  • Are ready to rethink strategies and engage in cross-movement collaboration;
  • Are committed to integrating the learning from the school into their ongoing social change work.

Application

Applications must be submitted by May 11, 2025, at 18:00 hrs EDT.
