Applications are open for the Black Men in Business Program 2025. The 2025 edition of the Black Men in Business (BMIB) Program, powered by the Black Business and Professional Association (BBPA), is now open for Stage One applications. This impactful, national six-week program is designed to empower early-stage founders and small business owners, offering mentorship, practical business training, and a vibrant peer community—with a chance to win up to $10,000 in non-dilutive funding.
Founded in 1983, the Black Business and Professional Association (BBPA) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing equity and opportunity for Black Canadians in business, employment, education, and economic development. The BBPA is committed to dismantling systemic barriers and building a more inclusive business landscape across Canada.
Benefits
The program goes beyond education – they are here to help black men in business unlock their full potential with non-dilutive capital. Semi-finalists will:
- Pitch their business for a chance to receive up to $10,000 in non dilutive funding
- Close knowledge gaps for themselves as a business leader
- Meet potential champions for their business
- Gain exposure to new customers + potential clients
Eligibility
The program is designed for black men in business that meet the following criteria:
- Founder or owner of a small business registered in Canada.
- Can commit to a minimum of two hours of programming a week.
- Doing business in any of the following five categories:
- Technology
- Consumer Goods
- Food & Hospitality
- Creative Business
- Business Services
Application
Complete the form below to submit your interest to participate in stage one of the program. Stage One applicants will be notified via email about details and dates for a hands-on workshop series (five, 60-90 minute sessions) running from mid June through the end of July.
