Applications are open for the Click-on Kaduna Data Science Fellowship Program 2025. The Click-On Kaduna Data Science Fellowship Program is a digital skills and development program implemented by the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics (KDBS) to train world-class data management professionals.

The fellowship trains young people in data science and the use of modern tools to improve public policy and decision-making in Kaduna State. The Data Science Fellowship Program is part of the Kaduna State Data Lab Project, jointly implemented by the Kaduna State Government, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Natview Foundation for Technology Innovation.

The DSFP has become a cornerstone in bridging the gap in data management within Kaduna State. Over the course of their time as fellows, 150 young individuals from different backgrounds have had a profound impact on the future of Kaduna State through their participation in the program.

Since its inception in 2020, the paid Fellowship Program has supported the Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics in driving social change, particularly in the healthcare sector. Fellows have played an important role in improving healthcare service delivery, especially at primary healthcare centers, where data-driven insights are leading to tangible improvements in resource allocation and service delivery.

  • Model data using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning tools within the Amina J. Mohammed SDGs Data Lab.
  • Build a sustainable network within the Data Science Ecosystem.
  • Earn monthly internet data scholarships to support your learning.

Eligibility

  • Age: 18–35 years, except for exceptional cases.
  • Location: Applicants must be resident in Kaduna State.
  • Academic Qualifications: Graduate of Tertiary Institutions in any of the STEMS courses particularly: Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Physical Sciences, and Health-related disciplines. Undergraduates within the STEM fields identified who are doing their 6-month to 1-year Internships are also encouraged to apply.
  • Competency Level: They are looking for people with the following skills:
    • Basic Computer Knowledge
    • Basic Knowledge of using Data & Understanding of Microsoft Excel
    • Problem-Solving Skills
    • Communication Skills (Written and Verbal English).
  • Gender: During the selection process, 50% of gender balancing and distribution will be considered.

Application

  • Step 1: Fill out and Submit the Application Form. Start by completing and submitting the online application form.
  • Step 2: Receive Activation Email. After submission, you will receive an email with an activation link.
  • Step 3: Activate Your Profile. Click the activation link in the email to activate your profile.
  • Step 4: Set Up Your Account. Create a new password and log in to your profile.
  • Step 5: Write an essay of no more than 250 words detailing why you should be selected for the program. Upload a valid means of identification (Voter’s Card, National ID Card, Driver’s License, or International Passport). Ensure the image type is .jpg.
  • Step 6: Submit a video. If you receive a congratulatory email to proceed, upload a 2-minute video highlighting what makes you stand out and why you are a perfect fit for the program.
  • Step 7: Be ready to receive a confirmation email regarding the status of your application.
  • Step 8: Computer-Based Test (if successful). If your application is successful, you will be invited to take a Computer-Based Test. All applicants who score above the CBT’s average performance score will be asked to proceed to the final phase of the application process.
  • Step 9: One-on-One Interview. If you clear all previous steps, you will be invited to attend a one-on-one interview with the selection panel.
  • Step 10: Join the Fifth Cohort. If you pass the interview, you will join the Fifth Cohort of the Fellowship Program.
