The New York Global Young Leaders Summit International Model United Nations (NY-GYLS Int’l MUN) is established at New York, from 16th to 29th March 2013 is the first and unique Summit in US aiming to gather students from the five continents. It is offering a higher-level atrium of confrontation and debate between culturally-diverse leaders, with the UN building as backdrop.
Students representing the most prestigious universities of the world will meet to discuss and give their concrete contribution to the hottest issues discussed daily by the world leaders, elaborating official UN documents and creating an inter-sectoral arena of dialogue, negotiation and best practices sharing.
The New York Young Leaders Summit gathers 600 university students representing more than 64 countries and it belongs to the category of the “long-life learning experiences”. The 4 days simulation and debate will exercise its value beyond the journey in New York City. Participants will experience an highly exclusive and intellectual qualitative environment where familiarizing with professional skills, such as: analytical research and analysis, public speaking, negotiation, team work, stress management, networking.
High school students will have the opportunity to work in different and separate UN commissions, debating the most current and critical international issues and confronting each other in a fruitful and meaningful high level Summit between peers.
At the end of the Summit those students who distinguished themselves for the most qualitative work, the most original contribution and the brightest negotiation will be awarded through an official letter send by ICCE – International Committee for UN Culture and Education Promotion to the respective Universities and Embassies.
