Deadline: May 15, 2013
The African Leadership Academy is still accepting applications for its Global Scholars Program. The Global Scholars Program (GSP) is an intensive, nineteen-day, global leadership program that prepares future leaders to explore their potential to create widespread change in Africa – and throughout the world. It will take place at ALA in Johannesburg. The GSP offers two sessions. Session I runs 2 July-20 July 2013; Session II runs 22 July-9 August 2013.
About GSP
Participants in this exciting leadership program practice leadership by working in social ventures in the Johannesburg community, learn from ‘fireside chats’ with prominent entrepreneurial leaders in South Africa, build a global network with other young leaders from around the world and discover the history, beauty and diversity of Africa.
The cost for each session is $4200 USD, which includes tuition, room and board, extracurricular activities and entry fees for all museums and trips. A limited number of need-based scholarships, covering up to half tuition, are available.

- Students can come from any part of the world—North America, South America, Asia, Middle East, Europe, and Africa
- They must be thrilled for the intense nineteen week day in which they will develop as global leaders, build lasting friendships, engage in deep study of the African continent, and contribute value to a social venture that will have a lasting impact on a community in need
