Applications are invited for the Young Connectors of the Future Programme (YCF). This is a leadership programme that aims to lay a foundation for dialogue, mutual understanding and knowledge sharing among young leaders in South Asia. The programme invites leaders between 20-32 years old from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan who represent different sectors of society. The participants are actively working for democracy and human rights within the spheres of society, culture, politics, entrepreneurship and media.
The YCF programme comprises of ten days of intensive work in Sweden and consists of intercultural leadership training including lectures, seminars and workshops. Practical group assignments run throughout the whole programme in combination with tailor-made study visits to relevant Swedish authorities, organisations and institutions. During and after the programme the participants will be part of an active network that will boost creativity and support their personal and professional development, while also laying the platform for a more connected future.
Young Connectors of the Future Programme combines intercultural leadership training with theory and practice in the fields of transparency, democracy and human rights. The programme aims at building a dynamic network of young leaders and connectors of the future in South Asia, promoting dialogue, knowledge sharing and openness.
Eligibility
To apply to Young Connectors of the Future programme you have to:
- Be an engaged leader within the spheres of society, culture, politics, entrepreneurship or media
- Work actively for democracy and human rights.
- Be between 20-32 years old.
- Have a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English.
- A citizen of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India or Pakistan
Accommodation, food and travel
All costs related to accommodation, food and transport during the YCF are covered by the Swedish Institute. The Swedish Institute will also arrange and pay for your air travel to and from Sweden. Participants are themselves responsible for costs related to transport within their own countries.
Please note that no exceptions to the eligibility requirements above will be made. Also note that the Young Connector of the Future is an intensive programme and all selected participants will have to commit to participate during the full ten days.
