Global Startup Youth Programme: Apply now to Participate!

What happens when you put a group of more than 500 youth from 60 nations comprising of developers, hustlers, domain experts and youth leaders with a group of more than 100 rock star mentors into a single venue over 3 days? You get world beating ideas turning into ventures! This is what the Global Startup Youth Programme is about. The event is taking place at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from October 8-11, 2013! The Global Startup Youth is a 3 day action packed, high intensity, challenging yet fun filled, ‘get stuff done’ bootcamp. It harnesses the power of youth, their cultural diversity, their domain experise and their deep conversations about today’s world problems to accelerate them into ventures, ready to be taken to market and scaled. Designed by StartupMalaysia with deep insights from her partners, Global Startup Youth aims to catalyze the next generation of high-growth ventures.

Global experts in innovation, designers, startup leaders and leading grassroot entrepreneurship players will join as global mentors to help youth build solutions to real world problems. The best ventures will showcase their prototype to world leaders. The Global Startup  will be one of the key side events at the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Summit: www.geskualalumpur2013.org.

5 groups of awesome people will be there:

  1. 30 grassroots entrepreneurship leaders from up global
  2. 30 entrepreneurial leaders from the start up nations
  3. 200 youth (18-25 years) from 60 countries
  4. 300 youth (18-25 years) from Malaysia
  5. 50 next-gen innovators nominated by the State Department

How to Apply and Participate

  • Are you 18 – 25 years?
  • Passionate in changing the world or creating an impact !
  • Know the power of teams and co-founders and are excited to work with people from all around the world.
  • Up for the challenge to come up with an awesome application for a REAL world problem in 3 days!

WHAT TYPE OF PARTICIPANT ARE YOU?

1. A Hustler

Hustlers bring to the world a unique skill – they get resources and people rallied around them with their vision, persuasive power and negotiation skills. Have you ever been in a situation you brought something into being where there was nothing?
Then you are the hustler we want at the Global Startup Youth!

2. A Coder

Also known as the hacker/developer/programmer. The “How” of the team who will answer questions and help transform the idea/initiative/solution reality into an app using various programming languages.

You need to come with your passion for coding and with the guidance of the coding gurus present, let’s see you power your team into moving their ideas into user-friendly apps. Come to Global Startup Youth and be inspired to take your coding to the next level!

3. A Domain Expert

You have a quirky passion about the world. You think either the environment, education, health or women’s empowerment needs serious fixing and are bursting with ideas that can possibly fix them. You’ve done a lot of research to back your beliefs.

You’ve always wanted to work with tech dudes to build applications that can solve some of these problems. We want you to come to Global Startup Youth and build your ideas into tangible solutions with other like-minded youth.

4. A Youth Leader

You rock ! The pied-piper in the world of youth. Youth rally around you and are inspired by your vision and your ability to articulate to them. We want to have you with us at the Global Startup Youth.
