The World Merit is offering four (4) internships at its Headquarters in Liverpool, UK. Together with the United Nations, World Merit focuses on tackling the Sustainable Development Goals, aiming to end extreme poverty, fix climate change and get rid of inequality. It’s World Merit’s mission to unleash the upcoming generation to create waves of change. World Merit’s vision is to improve our world by providing young global citizens with radically inclusive opportunities.
Interns are expected to start as soon as possible, but on January 4th at the latest!
1. Opportunity Manager
As our Opportunity Manager, you will be on the lookout of great organizations and opportunities that would accelerate the personal and professional growth of our community members. You will be responsible for populating our online platform with range of inspiring, cool and meaningful opportunities, varying from conferences, internships, mentorships, leadership programs, cultural exchange programs, scholarships and jobs. You will work closely with the Marketing – and Community Engagement Team through out the entire campaign for each opportunity, this includes: design, implementation, managing partners and liaising with community members.

- A wordsmith. Excellent understanding of the English language and grammar
- Great communicator. You have the ability to effectively communicate information and ideas both in written and verbal format and build and maintain relationships
- Great researcher. Keep on top of opportunities, other youth organizations and their events to engage the community
- Great interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to make our partners and the community feel valued and inspired
- Flexible. You will be communicating with people from all over the world! This may result in occasionally conversing with the community outside of work hours due to time differences
- A creative thinker. You must be able to work with the community to create exciting projects and online events for them to take part in.
- A proactive community member. You will not only act as staff member but also develop a relationship within the community, guiding and facilitating the actions of others
- You walk the talk. Most important of all is an understanding our vision and values. Signing up to our platform and making connections before applying for this role is essential
- Professionalism regarding time, budgets and deadlines
- Speaking multiple languages is a desired skill, but not essential
2. Graphic Design Intern
World Merit is looking for a creative intern, specializing in graphic design and marketing. Someone who has up-to-date knowledge who can understand the organization’s needs and target audience. You will work on a variety of projects, including designing our monthly challenges, brochures, info graphics, social media images, and website design. You will work with the Head of Marketing and the Global Creative Team to cocreate impactful visual solutions.
Qualifications & Skills

- Graphic design experience
- Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
- Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
- Up-to-date with industry leading software and technologies (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) Professionalism regarding time, budgets and deadlines
3. Community Engagement Manager
As our Community Engagement Manager, you will ensure effective communication between the World Merit team and the online and offline community. You must act as a facilitator, fostering online engagement and collaboration through creative projects and discussions. You will coordinate with the Design and Social Media teams to create engaging content for our community, inspiring them to take action. In addition, you will oversee the application process of World Merit programs, aiding with discovery and enhancing the potential of our incredible community

4. Campaign Manager
As our Campaign Manager, you will ensure promotion, participation and communication around our campaigns and challenges. You will act as a source of information for the community and be responsible for follow-up on campaign submissions. In order to do this, you will be involved in promoting the campaign and keeping track of community participation. You will also be part of identifying campaign criteria and designing the process, which will identify the winner, based on merit. You will coordinate with the Marketing and Global Engagement Team to create engaging content for our community, inspiring them to take action. In addition, you will be involved in the application process of World Merit programs, aiding with discovery and enhancing the potential of our incredible community
