Applications are now being accepted for the IBM research internships! At IBM Research Africa, interns work on projects that address some of the toughest challenges in Africa, developing cutting edge technologies to build real-world solutions across a range of sectors, including mobile finance, accessible healthcare and small-scale agriculture.
IBM Research Africa is the 12th IBM Research lab and its first lab dedicated to a whole continent. The lab is located on the campus of the Catholic University in the Karen-Langata area, Nairobi. IBM’s goal is to maintain IBM’s world-class research culture while evolving commercially viable innovations that impact people’s lives.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria
- PhD level graduate students with strong technical skills and experience in the areas of machine learning, computer vision and IOT (Internet of things). This IBM’s Nairobi lab focuses on furthering the state of art research in these areas, as well as applying them to solve the real-world problems that our partners and we experience everyday.
- Previous experience in emerging markets is desirable, but not essential
- Applicants should be people who are curious about the problem, and creative in their approaches to designing new solutions.
