Applications are now invited from interested young people for the 2016 S&D Conference – School of Democracy taking place in Reggio Emilia, Italy on 20-22 April 2016. for the second edition of our School of Democracy. If you are selected you will have the chance to share your opinions with other young people from across Europe and the world on issues such as democracy, e-democracy, sustainable development and social justice.
About
The Group of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament will organise its second “School of Democracy”, from 20 – 22 April 2016, in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Over the course of three days, 100 young people from both inside and outside the EU will discuss the major issues facing Europe and the world. From democracy, e-democracy, globalisation, sustainable development and social justice to the threats of populism and extremism, participants will have the chance to debate with experts from the political, economic and academic worlds.

Travel, hotel and meal expenses will be paid.
Eligibility
- To be eligible to apply you have to be between 18 and 25 and be passionate about progressive politics.
- Participants from last year’s event will not be considered for this year’s edition.
- There will be interpretation in the main languages of the EU, but a good knowledge of English would be an advantage.
How to Apply
You are advised to apply as soon as possible by filling in the form here as for practical reasons they can only take into consideration the first 1000 applications.
The top 100 of these will be selected for the school and will be contacted by mid-February 2016 at the latest.
