Peter Drucker Society Europe invites students and young professionals to take part in its essay contest. The contest aims at raising awareness of the works and humanistic values of Peter Drucker among young people –the new generation poised to build on a management philosophy that puts the human being at its center.
The topic for the essay contest is: “The New Entrepreneurs – Movers and Shakers in Economy and Society?”.
There are two categories for entries: (i) student (ii) professionals
Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and no more than 35 years old
- at the time of essay submission
- You are a student (undergraduate, graduate level, MBA, PhD)?
- You are a professional (manager or entrepreneur) or in transition to a professional career?
- You have not been selected (or only once since 2010) among the TOP 10 Finalists?
Selection Criteria
Essay submissions will be evaluated according to
- The way you describe your personal insight about the theme and your experience
- in the context of your own cultural environment
- The way you discuss whether or not Peter Drucker’s view on entrepreneurship
- is still appropriate today
- Relevant stories that you want to share
- Relevance and originality along with your personal style
- Original concept, produced exclusively by you for the specific purpose of this contest
- Ability to express your thoughts in fluent English
- Form: 1500 to 3000 words maximum
Prizes
Each categories receives the following prizes/awards.
- Winners
- A cash prize of € 1,000
- Waived conference fee for 8th Global Peter Drucker Forum on November 17 – 18, 2016 (including conference documents; buffet lunches and coffee breaks at the conference venue)
- Funding of travel expenses (airfare or train plus 3 nights lodging)
- Invitation to the pre-conference events (Nov. 16): Drucker Challenge Get-Together (with partner) and Speakers reception (with partner)
- Invitation to the Gala event on Nov. 17 with awards ceremony (with partner)
- Opportunity to contribute in a session and /or an interview by important media (selection by session chair//media representative)
- Ranking list and publication of essay on www.druckerchallenge.org
- Opportunity to post a blog with your learnings from the Drucker Forum
- One-year-all-access subscription to Harvard Business Review
- Second & Third Prizes winners
- Waived conference fee for 8th Global Peter Drucker Forum on November 17 – 18, 2016 (including conference documents; buffet lunches and coffee breaks at the conference venue)
- Funding of travel expenses to Vienna (airfare or train plus 3 nights lodging)
- Invitation to the pre-conference events (Nov. 16): <
