Deadline: November 21, 2017

Submission links are open! The ENERGY GLOBE Award is one of today’s most prestigious environmental awards. With a global call for participation, ENERGY GLOBE invites outstanding sustainable best practice projects to participate in the annual competition. From all over the world, some 800 projects and initiatives are submitted annually to compete for the award.

The awards come as National (country) ENERGY GLOBE Awards which distinguishes the best project submission from a country. And International ENERGY GLOBE Awards/World Award which distinguishes the best projects in the 6 categories of Earth, Fire, Water, Air, Youth and “Sustainable Plastics.”

The objective of the ENERGY GLOBE Award is to present successful sustainable projects to a global audience and to demonstrate that for many environmental problems feasible solutions already exist. Projects submitted from over 170 countries take part each year in the awards. For 2017, innovative projects and smart technologies from around the world are invited to take part again.

Benefits

  • International winning projects for the 6 award categories of Earth, Fire, Water, Air, Youth and “Sustainable Plastics” will receive a cash award of € 10,000, which is divided among winners in all 6 categories.
  • In each country the best project is awarded the National Energy Globe Award and presented at the global online platform of Energy Globe.
  • The best projects will be honored as part of a ceremony that will be broadcast worldwide as well as featured by the international media.

Eligibility

  • Eligible for participation are projects with a focus on saving resources, improving air, soil, or water quality, increasing energy efficiency, using renewables, as well as anyone making a contribution towards the fight against climate change or the creation of awareness. No project is too small and none is too big!
  • Projects can be entered by individuals as well as companies, organizations, and public authorities.
  • Several projects may be entered by a single competitor. Entry is free of charge.
  • Continuous projects and initiatives (such as ongoing garbage collecting and recycling initiatives) that have not yet been completed but are already showing initial results may be entered as well.
  • Projects still at an early planning stage with no implementation results may be entered as well. However, they will not be considered for the Energy Globe Awards; instead, they will be evaluated by Energy Globe partners willing to offer project financing or startup consulting.

Application

  • Start your project application online.
  • Please prepare your project submission by using the checklist as well as the Word document provided.
  • To read more about the categories to apply for, please view here.
  • The application can be submitted in English or German.
