Deadline: March 1, 2018

Nominations are open for the Abie Award 2018. At AnitaB.org, they celebrate and highlight the success of women technologists and those who support women in tech. The Abie Awards honor these distinguished women, whose achievements and life stories demonstrate that each of us has the power to improve our world, individually and collectively.

At AnitaB.org, they envision a future where the people who imagine and build technology mirror the people and societies for whom they build it. They connect, inspire, and guide women in computing, and organizations that view technology innovation as a strategic imperative.

Award

They honor the Abie Award winners at the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC) taking place from Sep. 26–28, 2018 in Houston, TX. Each winner receives a cash prize, an opportunity to speak at GHC, and an expenses-paid trip to GHC.

2018 Categories

  1. The Technical Leadership Abie Award – The award is presented to a woman technologist who inspires the women’s technology community through outstanding technological contributions. The award includes a prize of $12,000.
  2. The Student of Vision Abie Award – This award honors young women dedicated to creating a future where the people who imagine and build technology mirror the people and societies for which they build. The award includes a prize of $7,000.

The Award recognizes a junior faculty member for high-quality research and significant positive impact on diversity. The award includes a prize of $7,000.
  5. Change Agent Abie Award: Representation of women in technology is a global issue.
