Deadline: January 31, 2018
The Commonwealth Youth Peace Ambassadors Network- Caribbean and Americas is now accepting applications for the Faith in Commonwealth Youth Training of Trainers Workshop. The workshop will take place in Port of Spain from 28 February to 2 March 2018.
The Commonwealth Secretariat and the Khalili Foundation have partnered to develop the Faith in the Commonwealth project. Faith in the Commonwealth focuses on cross-cultural literacy and respect for different worldviews and beliefs to situate individuals within the global challenges presented by the 21st century and give individuals the tools to understand how they can act as catalysts for change.
Faith in the Commonwealth is delivering practical, training-of-trainer workshops to give young people the skills and confidence to be leaders and agents of change in their communities. Through the Faith in the Commonwealth workshops young people will build the capabilities to lead peer-based learning sessions with young people and community leaders that explore common faith understanding, intercultural dialogue, and generate understanding and respect for different world views and beliefs.
Workshops Details
The workshops are led by an experienced trainer who takes a youth peer education approach. Each workshop will last for 3 days, with 25 participants in each group.
The programme will cover social cohesion and peacebuilding, facilitating intercultural and interfaith dialogues, and the practical application of programme learning such as facilitation practice and designing a community-based project. The workshops are designed to be practical and get participants involved, so that on completion participants are trained and ready to design and deliver outreach and education activities in their communities.
