Canon Oceania Grants Program 2018 for Schools and Non-profits in Australia (worth $5,000 each)

Applications are invited for the Canon Oceania Grants Program 2018. The grants Program supports schools and not-for-profit groups who are addressing both social and environmental issues in their community and inspiring change for future generations. In the spirit of their guiding philosophy of Kyosei – living and working together for the common good, Canon has proudly supported community and environmental groups throughout Oceania for the last 11 years.

Applicants may apply for a grant in one or (where eligible) more of the following categories:

  • Community Grant: A project with significance to a local community;
  • Educational Grant: A project being run by a primary, secondary or tertiary school;
  • Environmental Grant: A project with environmental significance and impact

Grants

Canon will offer seven grants, each worth $5,000 of Canon equipment and money in-kind across Australia and New Zealand in the following categories:

  • Australia
    • 1 x Environmental Grant – $4,000 product & $1,000 cash
    • 1 x Education/School Grant – $4,000 product & $1,000 cash
    • 1 x Community/social Grant – $4,000 product & $1,000 cash
    • 1 x Runner-up Grant – $1,000 product
  • New Zealand
    • 1 x Environmental Grant – $4,000 product & $1,000 cash
    • 1 x Education/School Grant – $4,000 product & $1,000 cash
    • 1 x Community/social Grant – $4,000 product & $1,000 cash

Eligibility

  • Open to organisations that can demonstrate that the $5000 grant ($4000 worth of product + $1000 cash) will be used to facilitate an educational, community or environmental project that will benefit the Australian community;
  • The Canon Oceania Grants Program does not support:
    • Political organisations
    • Religious organisations
    • Sport organisations
    • Requests from individuals
    • Fundraising dinners or events
    • Capital building, endowment, or debt reduction drives
    • Requests from foreign countries
  • Applicants must be willing to speak with media and provide quotes for media outreach if needed;
  • Applicants must not announce their win publicly (on website or social networks) until given the go ahead from Canon
  • Applicants must specify if they have spoken to media about their project before and if so, include who, what, when etc.
