TechCrunch Startup Battlefield Latin America is coming to São Paulo on November 8 this year. This is the first event TechCrunch has ever held in Latin America, and they are all in to find the best early-stage startup in the region.
The Startup Battlefield is TechCrunch’s premier startup competition, which over the past 12 years has placed 750 companies on stage to pitch top VCs and TechCrunch editors. Those founders have gone on to raise more than $8 billion and produce more than 100 exits. Startup Battlefield Latin America aims to add 15 great founders from Latin America to those elite ranks.
TechCrunch is eager to learn more about the rapidly developing startup and tech scene in Latin America, and they hope Startup Battlefield will help identify and develop the top startups in the region. Their editors carefully pick the best startups to compete from hundreds of applications, and recruit world class judges to ask tough questions and pick the winners. TechCrunch’s editors coach the founders to make brilliant pitches on stage at the Startup Battlefield event.

Benefits
Participants in the Startup Battlefield compete for $25K and an all expense paid trip for two team members of the winning Start-Up to attend Disrupt San Francisco to exhibit and/or compete in Startup Battlefield, if they are eligible. But the real reason to participate is the exposure and connections you make throughout the event.
In Startup Battlefield, your startup will pitch on-stage in front of judges who represent the top VCs and your company will be announced on TechCrunch as a Startup Battlefield pick during the event.
Eligibility
Here’s the need-to-know about qualifying to apply:
- Have an early-stage company in “launch” stage
- Headquartered in one of these countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela (Central America) Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, Panama (Caribbean – including dependencies and constituent entities), Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.
- Have a fully working product/beta reasonably close to, or in, production
- Have received limited press or publicity to date
- Have no known intellectual property conflicts
