The AnitaBorg India Women Entrepreneur Quest (WEQ) 2018 is open for applications. The Women Entrepreneur Quest (WEQ) 2018 is the flagship contest of AnitaB.org India for women entrepreneurs, who are founders of startups in the technology sector.

Connections, guidance, inspiration are all important for the growth of a business. Get access to all this and more by applying for the popular Women Entrepreneur Quest (WEQ) 2018 contest and win a free visit to the Silicon Valley.

WEQ 2018 is sponsored by AnitaB.org India and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. The Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) plays an integral role in supporting and organizing WEQ 2018. AnitaB.org India, DST and IUSSTF have been in a joint partnership and successfully organizing the WEQ contest since 2014.

Awards

  • The WEQ 2018 Top 10 winners will each receive an all-expenses-paid experiential learning visit to Silicon Valley, US. The visit is for five working days and will take place in 2019 (dates to be announced). During the trip the WEQ 2018 Top 10 will get access to:
  • The 25 finalists of WEQ 2018 will receive a free one day-pass for attending the Grace Hopper Celebration India (GHCI) 18 conference on 14-16 November, 2018 in Bangalore. GHCI is the largest technical conference for women in India and is a great opportunity to learn and network with some of the best minds in the industry.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a woman
  • The applicant must be a founder/co-founder of an early stage technology startup
  • The startup must be an Indian operating and registered entity and should be under 7 years of operation as on 31st July 2018
  • The startup needs to be primarily driven by technology and can cover any sector of technology such as the Internet, Mobile, Clean Tech, Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Web-based Applications, Cloud, IT Enabled Services, Agriculture, Energy, Education, Financial Inclusion, Healthcare Applications, Social Media and any tech startup having a social impact.
  • Winners of past WEQ contests are not eligible to apply

  • The WEQ committee reserves the right to request for proof of eligibility criteria
  • Any misrepresentation of facts will lead to automatic disqualification from the contest

  • The WEQ 2018 committee reserves the right to request for proof of eligibility criteria.
  • Any misrepresentation of facts will lead to automatic disqualification from the contest
  • The decision of the selection committee will be final
  • The 25 finalists from stage 2 have to be present in-person at the pitch presentation session on November 13, 2018 and Awards Presentation on November 14, 2018 in Bangalore. Venue details will be shared closer to the dates.
  • Rules can be changed without prior notice
