Deadline: February 15, 2021

Applications for the Women Cross DMZ Feminist Korea Peace Fellowship 2021 are now open. In this paid virtual program, fellows will have an opportunity to hone their organizing skills and deepen their knowledge of various issues pertaining to Korea peace with longtime organizers, scholars, and advocates in their movement.

Over the course of 6 months, a cohort of fellows will partake in a series of monthly educational workshops that explore the impact of the ongoing Korean War, including the present-day nuclear conflict and the history of women’s peacebuilding in Korea.

Fellows will also have an opportunity to develop activism skills through capacity-building workshops on grassroots and feminist organizing, Congressional advocacy, and media training. Fellows will learn how to write a letter to the editor, publish a blog post, and become an effective advocate for Korea peace during our virtual Advocacy Days.

Benefits

  • Fellows will receive a $1,000 stipend upon completion of the fellowship.

Eligibility

  • Open to any young person, under 30, who is interested in learning more about the Korean War, the US-North Korea crisis, and the Korea peace process from a movement-driven, feminist, and anti-militarist perspective.
  • You do not need to be a seasoned activist or expert on Korea.
  • They are seeking aspiring organizers with a commitment to social justice, future peacebuilders in pursuit of a new approach to US foreign policy, and passionate advocates for an end to the Korean War.
  • As the fellowship will take place virtually, fellows can be based anywhere. However, fellows must be permitted to work in the United States for the duration of the program.

Application

To apply, complete the online application form and submit a copy of your resume to [email protected] with the subject line “Feminist Korea Peace Fellowship [Your Name]”.
