Do you have an idea on Reducing Sexual Abuse in Africa using Storytelling and Technology? Apply now for the Vera Alex Initiative Grants for Changemakers 2021. Annually, Vera Alex Initiative handles toxic mental and emotional experiences amongst children from the age of six. Also, they have tirelessly helped secondary school students to get emotionally and mentally whole.
This year, opportunities abound to win grants and get mentorship on how to use resources meant for Africa. However, these opportunities are only for employees and entrepreneurs hungry to impact children in Africa with their time and resources.
Theme: Reducing Child Sexual Abuse in Africa using Storytelling and Technology.
Benefits
- Three people will win a $250/N100,000 grant each for the solution they would bring.
- Finalists will receive mentorship for 3 months.
- You will be publicized on mainstream media for recognition.

Eligibility
- Applicant must be currently working a job or actively running a business.
- Must have the desire to take action on ideas.
- Must be willing to show up.
- Must be an African residing in any part of the world.
- Male and female inclusive.
- Africans living in Africa and diaspora.
Application
- Step 1: Register to qualify.
- Step 2: Submit your video/text pitch on the theme: Reducing Child Sexual Abuse in Africa using Storytelling and Technology. Post it on your Instagram page and tag @theveraalex and @africa_arising while using the hashtags #thechangemakerscompetition2021 and #veraalexinitiave. Your pitch will be reposted. (Text should not be more than 500 words and can have a pictorial representation of your choice. Video should not be more than 5mins).
Note: you can either choose to do a video or text pitch. - Step 3: Tell everyone you know to vote for you using the link they will give you.
- Step 4: If you are amongst the finalist, you will be invited for a physical/virtual event where the three winners will be announced.
