Applications for the Hostwriter Story Prize 2023 are now open. The Hostwriter Story Prize highlights exemplary works of journalistic collaboration. They look for work that shows how two or more journalists have collaborated together to realize a story that goes deeper than would have been possible solo.
Hostwriter is an open network that helps journalists to easily collaborate across borders. They support members at all career levels to raise the quality of media coverage by providing local contacts around the globe. All journalists provide work samples by way of professional verification.
Prizes
- Story Prize: The three winning collaborative stories will be awarded €1,000 each.
- Pitch Prize: The two winning teams will each receive €1,500 for their projects.
Eligibility
Applicants for the Story Prize
- Open to teams of two or more journalists who have worked on a story together, published by July 31st, 2023.
- More than one journalist has contributed.
- Used Hostwriter in some way for this story and/or all collaboration partners are existing members of Hostwriter.
Applicants for the Pitch Prize
- Open to collaborative story aimed for publication.
- More than one journalist will contribute.
- Plans of using Hostwriter for research and to find collaborators for the story.
Application
Previous winners of the Hostwriter Prize are not eligible to apply as well as stories published by Unbias the News are excluded from the prize.
