Applications are open for the WACCBIP Biotech Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programme 2024. This initiative is designed to catalyse the emergence of ground-breaking biotech start-ups in Ghana and across Africa.
The programme components include:
- Entrepreneurship Training Course: Equip yourself with the essential tools to translate your biotech ideas into market-ready start-ups. Delivered in collaboration with the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) Innovation and Incubation Hub, the Office of Research, Innovation and Development (ORID), and the Institute of Applied Science and Technology (IAST).
- Incubation Programme: Nurture your fledgling business with dedicated support and resources, fostering growth and sustainability.
- Funding Scheme: Unlock the potential of your research projects with a funding scheme tailored for exceptional ventures.

- The Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship
- Global Biotech Ecosystem [Time with the Industry]
- The Fundamentals of Product Development
- Venture/ Enterprise Development
- Fundamentals of pitch development/ Pitch DNA and Practice
Funding
- Up to $5,000 seed funding for at least 3 incubator start-ups
- Exploration of collaborative funding with partners like the Resolution Project
Eligibility
Open to:
- WACCBIP fellow, interns, students and alumni;
- Young biological scientists and trainees;
- Biomedical scientists and individuals passionate about developing biotech start-ups.
