Applications are open for the Alpine Fellowship Poetry Prize 2024. The prize is awarded for the best poetic response on the theme of ‘Language’.
Through their prizes, the Alpine Fellowship evaluates thousands of entries by entrants from around the world, and offer financial support in the form of grants, mentoring, performances and exhibitions of the work of talented young artists, writers, academics and playwrights. They also work with partner artistic and academic institutions to commission new works of art and to further the humanities and interdisciplinary study.
Prizes
The winner and runners-up will receive cash prizes and will be invited to attend our annual symposium.
- First place: £3,000
- Second place: £1,000
- Third place: £1,000
They will also offer up to £500 travel expenses to help with travel to the event and meals and accommodation during the symposium dates are also covered.
Eligibility
- Open to all nationalities.
- Applicants must be aged 18 or above at the time of entry.
- All entries must be written in English.
- Applicants must commit to using some of their prize money to attend our symposium from Saturday 6 – Tue 9 July 2024 in Tuscany, Italy.
- You may submit one poem or a collection of poems as long as ALL the poems in the collection speak to the theme.
- There is a maximum of 500 words per entry.
- There is no minimum required word count.
Application
- Submissions will be judged anonymously, so ensure that your name does not appear anywhere on your work.
- Due to the volume of applications, the judge’s decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into following the results.
