Hot Job: BBC Media Action is Hiring a TV Producer

Apply for the BBC Media Action TV Producer position! The TV Producer will work with the other members of the production and training department to produce high-quality television and digital outputs. The Producer will be responsible for ensuring that the produced outputs fulfil thematic objectives whilst having the largest possible appeal within the target audience[s]. The Producer is expected to initiate and drive the entire production process of both television and digital output, from concept development to delivery of the final product. The role reports to the head of production.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the head of production, and working with other producers and technical producers, ensure the design and delivery of television and digital outputs from concept inception to post-production.
  • Conduct planning and budgeting to cover the entire output recording process: preproduction, production, and post-production.
  • Ensure all contents meet project objectives and align with BBC Editorial values and standards.
  • Lead in ensuring that BBC Media Action’s digital and broadcast outputs are as creative and impactful as possible in a dynamic and evolving media market.
  • Pitch, write, record, report and edit original BBC Media Action content geared toward television and social media audiences.
  • Coordinate and research themes and ensure all content information is accurate, clear and unambiguous.
  • Take the lead in recording TV documentaries and mini-dramas. This involves ensuring that all the resources needed for the activity are provided and working with other relevant staff to ensure a smooth production process. It also consists in directing the recording/ filming of the outputs.
  • Work with technical producers in the post-production process and ensure the final product is delivered within established timelines.

Eligibility

  • Experience in producing engaging, creative content for television and social media.
  • Creative writing skills in English language.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience using these skills in a media production setting.
  • Evidence of imagination and an enthusiasm for generating new ideas, particularly those with the broadest possible audience appeal.
  • Strong understanding of the role of communications in development.
  • Demonstratable experience applying sound editorial judgement in producing television and social media content.
  • Demonstrable understanding of BBC editorial values.
  • Sound Editorial judgement.
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to work within established deadlines.
