Deadline: October 4, 2024
Applications are open for the Deloitte-SuaCode Smartphone Programming Course 2024. SuaCode is a smartphone-based online course that teaches coding in English and French to Africans with little or no programming experience through the SuaCode Android app. A total of 1,000 learners stand the chance to be selected at the end of the first week of the SuaCode course to receive full scholarships sponsored by Deloitte to complete the SuaCode course as part of the Deloitte-SuaCode Scholars Program.
Learners will be introduced to basic coding concepts over 4 weeks while spending about 7-10 hours a week reading lesson notes, completing quizzes and assignments, while building a smartphone app — a pong game — in the process. Learners will get to interact with other Africans in the course forum and get answers to questions from Kwame, the Al Teaching Assistant. Learners that complete will be awarded a verifiable and shareable certificate.
Benefits
- Scholarship to complete the SuaCode course obtained after submission of the first week’s quiz and assignment.
- Verifiable and shareable certificate for students who complete the course.
- Exclusive mentoring sessions with professionals from Deloitte for students who complete the course.
Eligibility
- Open to young Africans (13 years and above).
- Applicants should have an Android device and a commitment to learning.
- The program will be in both English and French, so knowledge of any of the languages is required.
