Deadline: September 30, 2024

Applications are open for the TRANSFORM Business Grant 2024. TRANSFORM is actively anticapitalist and antiracist, continually working to identify and dismantle oppressive systems of power. Funding should not be the reason you sacrifice your business idea or your professional development.

They offer growth-focused wealth redistribution grants of $1,000 to anticapitalist businesses led by social impact focused individuals. In addition to funding, grantees participate in a customized year-long growth-based mentorship program, which includes access to pro bono services from a roster of experts in branding, coaching, skill-based learning, marketing, and more.

The TRANSFORM Business Grant is designed to support individuals in systemically marginalized groups who are making social impact and demonstrate financial need. This includes, but is not limited to, BIPOC individuals, individuals who have a disability, formerly incarcerated individuals, and queer, trans, and nonbinary folks.

Grant

  • The TRANSFORM Business Grant provides a $1,000 microgrant and a customized, year-long business strategy and development program to each grantee.

Eligibility

  • The TRANSFORM Business Grant is currently only open to applicants in the United States, regardless of citizenship or immigration status. Individuals and teams/groups located in the United States, regardless of immigration status, are welcome to apply.
  • Preference is giving to individuals who demonstrate financial need, which they define as not being able to get the things they need with the resources that they have. Organisers understand that financial need is going to look different for everyone.
  • This grant does not fund political organizations or activities, religious organizations for religious purposes, or student loans or other debt payments.
  • TRANSFORM does not have the capacity or expertise to consult or advise in medicinal or clinical practices. Business activities focused in these areas cannot be considered for the grant at this time.

Please note: Recipients of The TRANSFORM Business Grant will receive a 1099-MISC for the grant.

Criteria

The following are the core non-negotiables that must be met in each application to move forward in the review process. Applications that do not meet all four of these qualifications will not be considered.

  • You identify as part of at least one systemically marginalized group.
  • Your idea/business is aligned with TRANSFORM’s values, including antiracism and anticapitalism, and these values show up in how you run your business.
  • Your idea/business is social impact oriented and challenges systems of oppression/addresses social injustices.
  • You are in financial need.
