Apply to be the next UNDP/Samsung Generation17 Young Leader! Young leaders, with their commitments and aspirations, are transforming the world and driving progress on the SDGs to create a better future for all. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals—known as the Global Goals—are an urgent call to action worldwide to protect vulnerable populations and the planet by 2030. Achieving these goals requires the determination and vision of young people, their innovative spirit, and their ability to overcome obstacles.
In 2020, UNDP and Samsung launched Generation17 – an initiative that elevates the voices of young leaders while providing the resources that they need to overcome barriers to progress. Since then, UNDP and Samsung Generation17 has supported 16 young leaders across six regions who are working on issues towards all the 17 Global Goals. With this open call for applications, UNDP and Samsung look forward to increasing Generation17’s impact and empowering even more young leaders to take concrete action for the Goals.

- Generation17’s Young Leaders are invited to global and regional forums, such as the ECOSOC Youth Forum, UNGA, COP, the ECOSOC Partnership Forum, the UN Water Conference as well as to Samsung Unpacked events to showcase their work and the impact they’re making in their communities. They also participate in online consultations, where they voice the concerns of young people and convey these messages to decision-makers at the highest level.

- Applicants should be working on issues towards the 17 Global Goals.
